NCDO

The organisation
NCDO stands for Nationale Commissie voor Internationale Samenwerking en Duurzame Ontwikkeling (National Committee for International Cooperation and Sustainable Development). It involves people in the Netherlands in international cooperation and supports them with information, subsidies and advice. The millennium goals provide the point of reference for all these activities.

The cooperation with Intervolve
In 2003 Intervolve was granted with a subsidy from NCDO which funded part of our project in South Africa. In 2008 and 2009 the journalist Karin Anema visited our project in Awassa (Ethiopia). She looked at the different aspects of the project and talked with beneficiaries and other people involved. This enabled her to form a complete and realistic image of what Intervolve does in Ethiopia. Her findings and experiences were published on the Intervolve website and in other publication. The NCDO made funds available to sponsor this project.

The results
With this partnership Intervolve and NCDO try to reach groups in the Dutch society which do not immediately think supporting a project for international cooperation is obvious. The concrete results and integrated approach of Intervolve make a difference to them.
