In 2003 Cordaid and Intervolve signed a Memorandum of Understanding in which they agreed that more tight and strategic cooperation would be of added value in reaching individual and shared goals. Our expertises do after all add up. In 2006 this resulted in as Strategic Cooperation between Intervolve and Cordaid. This has four elements:

• Integrated projects for urban development
• Request based specific support
• Development and dispersement of knowledge
• Recrute funds together

Some examples

In October 2007 minister Vogelaar (Housing, Communities and Integration) made public that Cordaid receives a large budget for improvement of living circumstances in slums. Cordaid then immediately approached Intervolve to cooperate in developing a project for this.
 
The urban development fund, which is cooperatively developed, offers both Cordaid and Intervolve the possibility to use donations to fund projects on urban development and liveability.

Intervolve's general director has now for several years already been advising one of Cordaid's partner organisations in Nigeria. This organisation has a programme for rehousing inhabitants who were evicted by the government.

Intervolve is also part Cordaid's funding request (2011 - 2015) to the Dutch Ministery of International Cooperation.
